Advanced Power System Stabilizer Course

The course was developed to meet the high-standards demands of the customers of the Learning Center Power Electronics at ABB Switzerland. The following topics were elaborated in the course

• Basic concepts of LTI control systems
• Power systems' design
• Power system stability
• Power system oscillations
• Power System stabilizers
• PSS tuning Theory and Practice

To gain deeper insights and intensify the learning process, an advanced online platform was developed for this course. The course offered the participants the unique opportunity to test the presented theoretical concepts using the software tools developed at RIDENT. Bode plots, step responses, frequency responses, eigenvalue analysis and much more were presented and demonstrated.
